The Old Army Gentlemen’s Society would like to honor member Matt Barkis with the November Aggies First spotlight. The Aggies First spotlight is a monthly award given to a member of OL’ AGS who truly embodies our motto of “Aggies First, Gentlemen Always” through service to Texas A&M.

Throughout Matt’s college career, he has been involved in several leadership positions with various organizations on Texas A&M’s campus. Matt’s first primary involvement was in F.A.S.T. (Freshmen Aggies Spreading Tradition) where he started as a general member his freshman year, moved up to counselor his sophomore year and then became Head Director during the 2014-2015 school year. Matt was also very involved in Fish Camp where he served as a counselor for two years and then became a Cochair in 2014.

Matt is in his fifth year in the Professional Program of Accounting. He is set to graduate in May and go on to work for Ernst and Young. We are very proud of all that Matt has accomplished at Texas A&M and all that he plans to accomplish as he ventures into the real world!
