The Old Army Gentlemen’s Society would like to honor member Blake Parsons with the July Aggies First spotlight. The Aggies First spotlight is a monthly award given to a member of OL’ AGS who truly embodies our motto of “Aggies First, Gentlemen Always” through service to Texas A&M.
This past year, Blake served as the Chief of Staff for the Student Conference on National Affairs. This position required Blake to oversee the daily operations of the six directors of the conference in order to ensure four successful speaker events and the annual five-day conference. This spring, Blake was also selected to be a member of Maroon Coats. Blake has also been a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Delta Company since arriving on campus.
For all of his various involvements and service to Texas A&M, Blake was one of six OL’ AGS awarded the Buck Weirus Spirit Award. This award is given to fifty-five students at Texas A&M who impact campus through their involvement and exemplification of the Aggie Spirit.
Prior to his time at Texas A&M, Blake was a sergeant in the United States Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division as an Army Ranger from 2008-2012. Blake’s military career took him all over the world spending time in places like Port-au Prince, Haiti and Fallujah, Iraq.
We are very proud to share the hat with Blake who has made an impact on campus through his involvement and made an impact on our country through his military service. Congratulations to Blake on all of his accomplishments during his time at Texas A&M and thank you for your service to our country!
